Golf Cart Rules

All privately owned golf carts driven on HOA streets must be registered with the Wilderness Ridge HOA and display the registration number provided by HOA or Wilderness Ridge on each side of the cart or be fined $100.

Golf cart owners may be fined $100 for under age drivers, reckless driving or other golf cart rule violations as posted on the HOA website.

No person shall operate a golf car on the streets of the Wilderness Ridge subdivision unless he or she possesses a valid motor vehicle operator’s license issued by any governmental body and recognized by the State of Nebraska.

No person shall operate a golf car on the streets of the Wilderness Ridge subdivision unless such car is equipped with fully functional brake lights which illuminate when the brake pedal is depressed. No person shall operate a golf car on the streets of the Wilderness Ridge subdivision between sunset and sunrise unless such golf car is equipped with fully functional headlights and tail lights and such lights are illuminated at all times.

Any golf car operated on the streets of the Wilderness Ridge subdivision, other than those golf cars owned by Wilderness Ridge Golf Club, shall be insured with respect to liability of the operator to others for personal injury or property damage with minimum liability limits of $100,000.00 per person and $300,000.00 per occurrence, or, alternatively, $300,000.00 combined single limit. A homeowner’s policy generally will not cover a golf car when it is operated off the owner’s premises, so a separate policy is recommended.

No golf car operated on the streets of the Wilderness Ridge subdivision shall be occupied by more than two people per seat, regardless of the age of the occupants. Any golf car operated on the streets of the Wilderness Ridge subdivision and occupied by any child under the age of 10 shall be equipped with seat belts and such child shall be properly secured in his or her seat through the appropriate use of such seat belt.
